Responsibilities - Managing truck drivers’ schedules and routes - Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information - Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions - Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries - Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance - Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule - Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements - Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information - Scheduling freight to be picked up and delivered - Providing shipping details to customers - Documenting all calls, deliveries, routes and times for pickups and deliveries - Completing paperwork related to shipments, such as invoices - Handling customer complaints and inquiries - Ensure adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. - Review and verify driver logbooks for accuracy and compliance. - Coordinate vehicle inspections and manage maintenance schedules to ensure road safety and compliance. - Prepare required documentation and processes for Department of Transportation (DOT) audits. - Manage and optimize the Transportation Management System for effective operation tracking and reporting. Qualifications - Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics role is preferred. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. - Proficient typing skills for accurate data entry. - Familiarity with supply chain management principles and freight operations. - Experience with Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or similar logistics software is highly desirable. - Knowledge of GIS applications related to transportation planning is a plus. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
