• Responsible to strategize marketing / business / development / operations / projects and to direct the
activities of the transportation division to ensure achievement of respective sales targets and business
plans.
• Responsible to enhance the relationship of the company with key customers and accounts in order to
further the division’s business interests.
• Responsible to manage and motivate the operations, projects and other personnel in order to synergies
their efforts to the achievement of the division’s targets / goals.
[Principal responsibilities]
• Contributes to the formulation of transportation business plans and company strategy by leading all
transportation planning and strategic activities.
• Cascades objectives, plans and targets formulated by the company down to each staff level of the
operation.
• Manage performance of department employees with emphasis on productivity, efficiency, and service
delivery through overseeing transportation department, including its assets and employees.
• Translates business plans into action plans with appropriately allocated resources required for
achievement of the plan-objectives through recruit, interview, select, train, motivate, coach, and
mentor staffs and transport drivers.
• Builds and maintains harmonious relationships with key accounts, institutional customers, and
accounts through implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction
opportunities.
• Drives the development and implementation of marketing and innovative service offerings strategies
by studying and analyzing data on customers, target groups, and competitor activity
• Ensures proper yard management to track the movement of trailers and provide inventory visibility
with the receiving/shipping yard.
• Ensures proper fleet management to improve the utilization and availability of the fleet, reduce
downtime and reduce maintenance cost.
• Proactively and regularly engages in the study of processes pertaining to project management and
asset maintenance to improve the operational efficiency and reduce cost.
• Maintains good relationship with the key suppliers and negotiates terms of contract for the purchase
and hire of new equipment. Also ensures that a track of supplier performance is maintained.
• Sets out specific performance standards in such key areas as business development, operations,
project management and yard management; evaluates performance against these standards; coaches
and assists the department managers in improving their performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective
functioning of the transportation operation.
