Summary of Job Function
Responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and monthly financial statement preparation process. The accountant plays a key role in the monthly close process and reports to monitor and improve financial performance for the company as it experiences continued growth. Key responsibilities of the position include:

Duties and Responsibilities
•	Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
•	Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
•	Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
•	Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
•	Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
•	Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
•	Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
•	Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
•	Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
•	Assist with the annual and monthly budget.
•	Assist with the annual audit.

Education and/or Experience
•	Accounts Payable / Receivable
•	Monthly Closings
•	BS in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent business experience
•	Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel
•	Ability to work efficiently independently as well as part of a team
•	Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
•	Effective communication skills
•	Strong understanding of statutory accounting
•	Proven ability to meet daily and monthly deliverables
