The Senior Staff Engineer: Helmet research, planning, analysis, design, and develop products and systems in support of the helmet program team. Analyzes mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer processes for production of advanced composite materials. Uses advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures. Conducts and supports subsystem and system integration and verification activities, and manufacturing planning. Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.
Essential Job Functions:
Applies advanced knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and state-of-the-art practices in area of expertise to develop innovative solutions to highly complex technical problems of significant breadth, often encompassing advanced composite materials and major systems.
Routinely provides technical leadership, expert technical consultation or advice related to on-going technological advances in current product areas. Influences technical personnel, senior management, and external customers.
Conceptualizes, creates, and analyzes designs to ensure engineering projects meet technical, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
Researches, writes, and presents technical presentations to enhance the company’s reputation with customers and in the technical community.
Required Education: Higher Education degree a must B.S. degree M.S. degree Ph.D.
Required Skills:
In-depth skill using current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines. Ability to identify, definition, interpretation, and resolving engineering problems involving conflicting design/contractual/policy or technical requirements across functional areas and with difficult coordination requirements. Ability to prepare technical reports, papers, and presentations and deliver them in written and oral form to customers, industry leaders, and senior management.
Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit; frequently required to move about, and reach with hands and arms; and may occasionally be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Work Environment: Normal office environment. May require visits or assignments to shop or production areas, test facilities, or customer sites. May require travel.
