A global retail Solutions company is currently seeking a Senior Level SQL Database Engineer.
Job Description
Work closely with the software team on database engineering projects. Their software runs on Linux and Windows using SQL Server and MySQL. The database engineer will optimize queries, revision schemas, upgrade schemas, write new queries, create documentation, and perform any other database related functions as deemed necessary. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, security, planning, development, and troubleshooting of current production databases. The candidate will also be required to assist build engineering on an as needed basis.

Qualifications/skill set
• Bachelor’s degree (or better) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited 4-year college or university.
• 3 years experience designing and implementing schema and queries in an RDBMS (SQL Server and MySQL preferred).
• Ability and willingness to assist build engineering on an as needed basis.
• Experience developing solutions for Java EE applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• MS SQL 2005 or above with T-SQL
• MySQL 5.x with MySQL native SQL
• Data modeling, normalization, EAV/CR model and PIVOT/Any Aggregate operations
• Query optimization and analysis with performance tuning
• SQL profiling and performance monitoring
• SSIS, SSRS and SSAS. Especially SSIS and SSAS
• Strong DDL & DML skills with scripting (ex. Any scripting language such as Shell, Batch, Python, Powershell, etc.)
• Triggers, Stored Procedures, Functions and Views (including Materialized Views)
• Database maintenance skills (Backup, statistics, indices, log shipping, replication and clustering)
• SVN, Ant, Scripting (batch, shell, etc.), CI tools (Hudson, Cruise Control, etc.), Windows and Linux OS
