Company Overview:
Established in 1990, our client company was founded with a management philosophy centered on a commitment to earth-friendly business practices and to the customers it serves and is setting up its new plant in Alexander City, AL. They are now actively seeking a talented Quality Control Specialist. The company manufactures exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers, EGR tubes and various fluid systems.

Position Overview:
The Quality Control Specialist will work under the general direction of the Quality Supervisor and be responsible for the overall materials. Working with minimal supervision, the Quality Specialist will assure that the standards are consistently met through production to maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
• Respond to customer complaints, inquiries and audit requirements with appropriate sense of urgency
• Support product quality and manufacturing failure investigations, define investigational strategy
• Assist Quality Manager and Production Specialists in disposition of nonconforming product
• Assure coordination for in-process testing activities, analysis of inspection results and corrective action when discrepancies are encountered
• Plan inspection and testing workloads for Inspectors in accordance with overall production schedules to meet manufacturing and economical requirements
• Participate in evaluation of the manufacturing process through the implementation and maintenance of statistical methods. This includes monitoring, analyzing, and providing product performance feedback to the management, employees and customers as required
• Review all quality issued standards and instructions provide interpretation and orientation for the Inspectors
• Gather and analyze quality related data to facilitate improvement in product quality
• Adhere to ISO/TS16949 and other requirements to confirm manufacturing of high quality products Prepare and perform for yearly audits and re-certification
• Organize and maintain electronic and hard copies of all office records and forms
• Ensure that Quality System Manual is always current and updated to the latest standards
• Perform all required materials testing as established by the Quality System Manual
• Achieve or exceed customer expectations and mandated standards
• Utilize problem-solving skills to develop and implement quality improvement plans
• Communicate with outside agencies and inspectors for all quality matters

Requirements:
• 3 years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required (Non-major specific, preferably Engineering)
• ASQC certified as a CMI, CQA, CQE, CRE and/or CQM a plus
• Knowledge of ISO 9000/TS16949 a plus
