Job location: Pontiac MI
Role & responsibility
• Product development activities including requirements review, proto builds, validation and pre-production.
• Design, validate and release driveline components & assemblies
• Provide technical direction to manufacturing engineering, sales, purchasing, analysis, test engineers, supplier, etc.
• Engineering analysis (stack-ups, calculations, interfacing with CAE group).
• Customer support by attending PDT meetings.
• Warranty support from determining of root cause to implementation of corrective actions.
• DVP&R development support from SSTS review with test engineer.
• Cost analysis support to sales team for quotation of new program.
• Guide design change direction to internal organization
• Written and oral technical communication internally and to external customers.
Release of Bill Of Materials.
• Design and review of 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Creation of Product Structure (BOM or EPL) within Team center.
• Work with manufacturing plant to support program launch.
• Support development of tiered supplier for localization of components.
• Benchmark competitive products.
• Closely communicate with Driveline team in Korea HQ.
• Support new customer promotion activities
• DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, GD&T, Spline, Heat treatment experience
