Overview
Our client company is currently looking for a Payroll Specialist at the Superior Township, MI and is the design, technology and engineering arm for all North American models of the Korean-based Automotive Group.Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Location: Superior Township, MI
Salary: $50,000- $70,000Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
• Process payroll for all employees and ensure complete and accurate results.
• Make all payments for payroll taxes and deductions. Field all questions relating to employees’ paychecks.
• Process semi-monthly and monthly payroll for all staff; calculate hourly semi-monthly payroll manually, enter data into SAP for time (hourly,) vacation days, bonuses, allowances for Korean staff (housing, education, and food) and payments & adjustments.
• Process lease car payments and deductions through SAP. Track data in both SAP and Excel. Review data, make any necessary corrections and generate report.
• Prepare payroll reports and reconcile semi-monthly and monthly. Generate a variety of reports – monthly, semi-monthly, employee reports, cumulative, hourly/salaried & Korean staff.
• Process employee deposits – enter direct deposit, 401K, and employer data on website and deposit funds into accounts. Deposits are made by wire transfers, on-line banking and through 401k website. Data entry accuracy required.
• Process tax payments for local, state and federal entities – complete check requests based on report generated from payroll data and make necessary wire transfers.
• Communicate with internal staff to coordinate cutoff periods for entering data and follow up to ensure changes are received and entered in timely manner.
• Lead SAP payroll development projects.
• Facilitate Korean staff tax returns.
• Lead 401(k) and Workers Compensation audits.
• Perform account reconciliations for all accrual accounts.
• Collaborate with CPA to combine semi-monthly and monthly data to complete quarterly and annual reporting.
• Create and present technical reports as assigned.
• Perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, timecard, vacation requests, travel requests, etc.
• Perform additional projects as assigned.Education and Experiences
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years experience processing payroll preferably using SAP
• 2 years experience in Accounting, Finance and/or Taxes for large enterpriseRequired Skills
• Expert SAP skills
• Expert MS Excel skills; proficient MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Expert data entry, data analysis, and problem resolution skills
• Proficient time management and organization skills
• Proficient self-management skills
