JOB DESCRIPTION: •Design parts and assemblies for battery packs utilizing various materials and metals; follow design concepts or functional requirements of project tasks so that the resulting feature or product meets SANYO requirements in a time sensitive environment •Create mechanical engineering drawings in accordance with standards for designed parts and assemblies •Generate bills of materials and complete electro-mechanical assemblies •Interface with sales staff, customers and production team in designing battery packs to meet customer specifications and deliver finished goods •Attend weekly engineer meetings with customers’ engineers or project management •Prepare required monthly reports, call reports, project tracking sheets, engineering reports, etc. •Complete tasks assigned by senior engineer or manager Job Requirements •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred with 0 - 2 years directly related experience or equivalent experience •Large assembly design experience, desired •Electrical power related product design, preferred •Ability to work cross functional teams to complete all associated tasks and taking initiative to coordinate projects •Proficiency in CREO / ProE 3D CAD •Basic MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word proficiency •Analytical skills and ability to multi-task •Japanese language proficiency, desired SANYO Energy (USA) Corporation values its employees and provides an outstanding compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
