    Job Summary:
    The Materials Specialist obtains the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation and supplier management. Identifies manufacturing needs, identifies and selects suppliers and negotiates contracts. Purchases critical, complex and /or high materials, equipment and services.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Identifies and recommends suppliers by investigating potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability. Prepares statements of work for items proposed for procurement. Develops potential bidders lists and formal requests for quotation of proposal.
    • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating pricing of materials, equipment, office supplies goods and services from vendors; including but not limited to, consumables, furniture, media equipment , computers , etc.
    • Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. May be responsible for some inventory replenishment but without open-to-buy responsibilities.
    • Obtain, verify and provide information related to purchases and related matters to HEM vendors and contractors; review requisitions for completeness and accuracy to obtain information related to price, product quality, and delivery time lines.
    • Prepare purchase orders for approval and signatures; provide information and resolve problems as appropriate.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills/Requirements:
    • Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration preferred some college required
    • Knowledge of principles and procedures of purchasing. (2-5) years proven experience.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Must have strong negotiation, decision-making and analytical skills.
    • Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results
    • Bi-Lingual in Korean and English preferred.

    Education/Training/Experience:
    • Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration preferred, some college required.
    • (2-5) yrs. Proven experience in Purchasing.
