    Position Description:

    The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for the production of detailed functional and non-functional requirements for our GSM/CDMA Service Manager product.

    The Technical Product Manager will take account of user and engineering
    requirements, and extensive knowledge of GSM/CDMA technologies, to create functional requirements, defining the features to be developed for a particular software release or over a number of defined releases. In addition, the Technical Product Manager will act as a technical subject matter expert in GSM/CDMA product areas, and work with Engineering to implement functional and non-functional requirements specified. Their specifications will be used to derive detailed development designs and test specifications for the GSM/CDMA product evolution.

    Responsibilities:

    Technical Product Manager will be accountable to the Lead Technical
    Product Manager.

    Responsibilities will include:
    Participating in GSM/CDMA product design and release process through active involvement in defining software requirements and drafting functional requirements specifications and detailed use cases for the development and verification of new GSM/CDMA product functionality.

    Providing technical input into mFormation’s roadmap planning
    process on GSM/CDMA technologies, trends and future requirements

    Defining technical requirements from technical standards, high level
    product descriptions, statements of work and customer use case scenarios.

    Ensuring good usability in terms of user interaction, reports, screen
    design and flow for the various end users of the product.

    Consulting with sales and deployment, domain experts and other
    development staff to establish hardware and software interfaces as well as operational and performance requirements for the software system.

    Creating prototypes or other demonstration models of functionality to
    help confirm and clarify requirements with customer and engineering teams.

    Assisting product and project managers in planning project deliverables,
    recommending development approaches and making technical presentations.

    Participating in beta testing of new products; documenting and
    recommending solutions / improvements. Validating product functionality and test cases against requirements.

    Acting as a subject matter expert for GSM/CDMA products internally and with external parties as required.

    Position: Full-Time, based in Edison, New Jersey, USA

    Candidate Description:

    A Technical Product Manager, with a minimum of 5 years experience
    managing or developing GSM or CDMA telecoms related software products.

    Education:

    Minimum
    Engineering or Computer Science Bachelors degree or equivalent.

    Desirable
    Engineering or Computer Science Masters degree or MBA

    Required Skills & Experience:
    5+ years of GSM/CDMA technical experience in the areas of technical product management, software engineering, and/or sales engineering, of which minimum of 2 years in a software firm in a technical product management capacity.

    Demonstrated ability to analyze, define, and validate user and system
    requirements.

    Knowledge of system architecture design theory and techniques, software
    coding and programming methods, including familiarity with object oriented programming.

    Telecommunications / wireless domain experience particularly in GSM/CDMA technologies

    Working under own initiative, with minimal supervision

    Working closely with software teams engaged in major feature
    development, under demanding timescales.

    Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication
    skills with the ability to present on deep technical topics to developers and architects.

    Experience of working effectively in cross functional internationally
    distributed teams to deliver complex technical solutions

    Skilled in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)

    Desired skills & Experience:

    Extensive knowledge of CDMA wireless technologies (IS-95, CDMA-1x, CDMA
    2000), and understanding of wireless device platforms.

    Additional knowledge of other wireless technologies (GSM/GPRS, WCDMA,
    WiMax) desirable

    Experience working in a wireless operator environment that utilizes CDMA technology, or secondarily experience with
    a mobile device manufacturer or vendor selling in to CDMA wireless
    operators.

    Knowledge of development support tools and methodologies (Unified
    Modeling Language, Rational Unified Process and toolsets, e.g. Rational Rose)
