Our client a large tier one Investment Banking client are currently recruiting for a Java Swing developer to join an existing team focussed on building out the functionality and technology of the firm’s eCommerce platform for FX Cash and FX Options. The work will encompass the development of innovative trade capture, pricing and straight through processing solutions across FX Cash, FX Orders and FX Options. 

Main Duties: 

Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment. The individual will be expected to carry out all steps of the development lifecycle to deliver the FX Cash Trade Capture and Risk Management application, including: 
• All steps of the development lifecycle to deliver the FX Cash Trade Capture and Risk Management application, namely: 
• Working with business analysts and project managers to understand the requirements 
• Analysing those requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution for incorporating them into the eCommerce platform and creating a technical specification where needed 
• Developing those requirements 
• Unit / system / regression / performance testing those requirements 
• Fixing bugs coming out of System / UAT testing 
• For UI development, regular sessions are held with Sales and Trading to get feedback during the development cycle 
• Reviewing code produced by others 
• Working with the business representatives during the UAT stage 
• Supporting the implementation of each new code 

Requirements: 

Qualifications / Education: 
• Degree Qualified 
Essential technical skills: 
• Java: Must have extensive experience of writing multithreaded client applications using Java, jdbc, applets and applications 
• Swing: Must have experience of Java Swing 
• SQL : Must have experience of using SQL, and ability to write stored procedures, triggers. 
• Have worked on enterprise systems which have a high frequency messaging element between UI and sever. 
Language Skills Preferred: 
• Specific experience of writing SQL on Sybase 
• Messaging middleware

Skills and knowledge Preferred: 
• FX Cash/FX Options business preferable but technical skills/experience much more important.
