I have a question for the lawyer fee for the H1-B.
The person I want to hire aksed me to pay 1000$ for the fee and sent me a few documents to fill out. When I asked other lawyers, the fee they asked was 2,000 – 2,500$.
I am wondering whether the amount of fee can determine the quality of work or is there any differences between lawyers and let say, associate lawyers? I don’t want to waste of my time and money.
Could you give me some tips for choosing right lawyers?

$1,000 sounds cheap. Check his reputation to see if he failed a case or two. Don’t go for the cheapest one in the market. Any fool can gather listed documents and file for H1b. But to make it a success, you need a strategy to convince INS. That’s how good attorney’s do things. I think $2,500 is as high as it goes for a h1b attorney. It usually means that he knows what he’s doing and rarely gets his petitions rejected.

캐나다에서 영주권처리 평균 8천정도 듭니다 변호사도아닌데 공인이민관이라고 6천에서 만불까지 받아먹습니다. 크게다를것도없는데말이죠. 알고보니 변호사고 일도잘하는데 2천불-2500불 하는데를 봤습니다. 캐나다도 그런데 미국이라도 더 안그러겠나 생각듭니다. 여긴 변호사가 많고 그래서 영주권프로세싱은 좀 저렴한가본데 취업비자쪽은 너무 1500이상받는 변호사는 너무 비싸다고봅니다. 물론 케이스가 complicated 그럼 비싼사람갈수있죠 근데 심플한케이스는 그럴필요없다고 봅니다
If you have right degree to your job title and can show your sponser’s enough financial ability, and right salary that meet with prevailing wage, and you have not violated law, it is more likely approve the cases. This is just my thought.
Some of my friends got H1b with $700 or $ 900 of lawyer fee. H1b looked not a complicated things to file for lawyers. The filing process was simple upon my experience. Therefore, some reaonsable laywers charge clients reasonable service fee under $1000.
