    JOB DESCRIPTION

    International Academic Alliance (IAA) seeks highly motivated and enthusiastic freelance consultants to advise international students on various parts of their undergraduate and graduate university applications. The Application consultant will work closely with the College Admissions Program (CAP) team and undergraduate/graduate applicants to advise, draft, and refine part of the student’s application components, depending on the consultant’s expertise area. He or she is responsible for closely advising and assisting the applicant towards crafting a finished application document which highlights the applicant’s strengths and presents them in the best light towards submitting a successful application for admission to their desired university. This position is located at IAA’s NY office.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES

    · Work closely with a caseload of 5-10 international student applicants to advise (via Skype, in-person or email) on their application for admission and/or its supporting documents, depending on your consulting expertise.

    · Work with the student to produce a polished and compelling document to be included as part of their application for admission or post-acceptance required paperwork.

    · Consultant would specialize in 1-2 “expertise areas” from the following list:

    o Ivy League/Highly Selective university admissions

    o Writing college and/or graduate application essays

    o Resume writing

    o University financial planning and scholarship advising

    o International student visa process

    o College and graduate school interview coaching

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS

    · International admissions officers or experienced staff of competitive universities encouraged to apply.

    · Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree required.

    · 1-2 years in student advising, professional background in one or more of the expertise areas above, and/or a combination of relevant experience.

    · Strong writing, verbal, and communication skills are required; discretion with sensitive or personal information essential.

    · Motivated to help students succeed and achieve their education goals!
