Kwangjin America is located in the City of Warren, Michigan and is housed under one roof with over 56,000 square feet for engineering, sales, a test lab, production and warehouse. Currently we are looking to fill the following position: DESIGN ENGINEER – Experienced You will develop window regulator and other automotive component design. You will report to Design Assistance Manager. Close coordination is required with the departments in Korean headquarter for tool development, process development and supplier part development. You will be supported by collocated Project management, Quality, Sales, Test lab in the Warren facility. You are should understand the engineering requirements of customers to make the design goal of KJ. You will write DFMEA and make design layout in CAD. Design engineers will share the work of detail prints for each project. The requirement for travel outside metro Detroit area is less than 15%. You must not have restriction to travel to Korea and other countries when KJ provides visa support. 1. SUMMARY • Conduct engineering study to develop design and lay out the math model in NX CAD system. • Cooperate with the group R&D, prototype shop and purchasing in Korea. • Host and document design review. • Understand customer requirements, KJ common parts library, KJ design standard, manufacturing limitation to develop successful product. • Adhere to AIAG APQP process Your skills and abilities also include: • New program acquisition o Analyze customer engineering requirements o Develop quotation design concept and quotation BOM o Prepare and present technical presentation to customer • Design and release new product o Layout and 3D model products. o Make detail prints for customer submission and for KJ internal release o Manage and release design to customer’s PDM o Participate in customer PDT(Project Development Team) meeting • Design management o Host KJ design reviews at project schedule o Participate in KJ PDT meeting o Manage design issues o Manage design responsible APQP documents o Receive Quality Information Report and develop action plan for the issues which design engineer is responsible. • Engineering change o Prepare engineering change request for internal design changes and customer requested changes. o Process engineering change order • Research and development o Conduct design study for potential customers o Participate to the R&D projects of KJ R&D center in Korea to promote to customers in America. • Support Test Lab Supervisor for test set-up data, including test fixture plate design. 2. REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in engineering • Written and spoken English communication • Written and spoken Korean communication • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint document creation • Structured document authoring • No limitation to travel to South Korea 3.
