Pay $30-45/hr
8 month contract or longer – Need someone ASAP.The benefits coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of benefits programs including health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation and LOA, life insurance, flexible spending plan, 401(k) plan and pension plan, and wellness programs. The benefits coordinator will provide excellent customer service to employees and will monitor the services provided by vendors and benefit providers.
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with this Credit Union Competencies and Information Protection requirements.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures and issues pertaining to benefits, to guide and direct staff as necessary. Consult with management and employees regarding issues, questions and concerns, and take appropriate action to see that they are resolved.
Have a thorough knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to health and welfare benefits, COBRA, retirement plans and leaves of absence.
Maintain data and reporting for benefit programs.
Maintain effective communication with all Credit Union employees to ensure coordination and timely exchange of information related to benefits: eligibility, life events, new enrollment, etc.
For the purpose of attaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office), with the ability to learn new software. Ultimate Software or other HRIS and reporting experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
A high level of interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with staff and vendors.
Detailed and organized. Able to establish and achieve deadlines.
Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using best judgement in the interpretation and application of best practices and documented procedures.
Ability to exercise confidentiality in sensitive situations.
Travel between facilities as needed.
High School diploma required; B.A. or B.S. in business, human resources, or equivalent work or educational experience preferred.
1-2 years of health and welfare benefits, leave of absence and retirement plan administration and/or HR service center experience preferred
