WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Engineer (Roadway) for our Dallas office. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform basic civil/highway/drainage design tasks including design calculations, quantity take-offs for cost estimates, site visits to confirm field conditions, and preparation of technical reports • Work on various types and sizes of projects ranging from conceptual/planning studies, reports, and permit applications to preparation of plans, specifications, quantity calculations and cost estimates (PS&E) bid packages to construction documents for alternative design projects • Assist in preparing design drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) software • Coordinate with other design disciplines, including structures, hydraulics/drainage, storm water, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way • Ensure that production of specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements Job Requirements Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program • 0-2 years of experience in the design and preparation of project reports and construction contract documents for roads and highways • Relevant coursework in roadway design, hydrologic studies, and/or hydraulic design • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment • Experience with basic computer software, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook Preferred Qualifications: • EIT Certifcation or ability to obtain within 6 months • Experience with Bentley MicroStation Version SS2/SS4/ORD Connect, Bentley Geopak, Bentley InRoads, AutoCAD Civil3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, SUDA and/or SWMM • Familiarity with the AASHTO Green Book, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and/or TXDOT's Design Manuals About WSP USA WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
