WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Engineer (Roadway) for our Dallas office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform basic civil/highway/drainage design tasks including design calculations, quantity take-offs for cost estimates, site visits to confirm field conditions, and preparation of technical reports
• Work on various types and sizes of projects ranging from conceptual/planning studies, reports, and permit applications to preparation of plans, specifications, quantity calculations and cost estimates (PS&E) bid packages to construction documents for alternative design projects
• Assist in preparing design drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) software
• Coordinate with other design disciplines, including structures, hydraulics/drainage, storm water, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way
• Ensure that production of specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
• 0-2 years of experience in the design and preparation of project reports and construction contract documents for roads and highways
• Relevant coursework in roadway design, hydrologic studies, and/or hydraulic design
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
• Experience with basic computer software, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:
• EIT Certifcation or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation Version SS2/SS4/ORD Connect, Bentley Geopak, Bentley InRoads, AutoCAD Civil3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, SUDA and/or SWMM
• Familiarity with the AASHTO Green Book, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and/or TXDOT’s Design Manuals
