Position Summary:
Quality Specialist is responsible for insuring Quality Inspections (Inbound & Outbound Inspection) for phones are performed accurately in compliance with Customer & Samsung requirements in timely manner and generate analytical reports and operational data support for SEA quality team. Additionally, communication and/or meetings with customers as well as various Samsung members for follow ups and investigations and perform on site review & validation at customer sites.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:
• Data analyst for customer and internal bounce reporting
• Owner of key quality metric reporting and monitoring including weekly vendor and carrier quality reports
• Generate weekly report with overall quality updates which includes gathering and organizing data including MPC KPI trending, Customer acceptance status (QCF, LFR, UAR), and other quality updates.
• Generate weekly report with overall Bounce quality updates which includes gathering and organizing data including Gross Bounce, Bounce Fail, top defect, and top trending model updates.
• Supports the onsite validation of quality failures at the customers (i.e. Verizon QCFs, etc.)
• Provides ongoing monitoring and reporting of customer scorecard quality metrics
• Supports overseas and local quality reviews for tracking and follow-up accordingly
• Provides weekly quality performance reporting for management reviews
• Primary contact point for customer repair quality raw data and system support (i.e. AT&T RQIL & QAP systems, etc.)Background/Experience to qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5-6 years of job related experience as preference and prior experience in telecommunications engineering a plus.
• Experience with MS Office including but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Access.
• Experience conducting internal and third party audits required. Must be able to write, read, analyze and interpret technical journals and procedures.
• Must be able to speak in mathematical/statistical terms (normality, probability, complex numbers, and logarithms are commonly used as references).
• Skilled at evaluating data from multiple angles to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.Necessary Skills/Attributes for this position the following skills and abilities must be demonstrated at a proficient level:
• Read and understand work instructions and Customer specifications
• Intermediate Computer skills required (accurate data analysis and reporting)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Troubleshooting abilities and analytical skills
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
• Work Hours (M-F: 8hr)
• Overtime as needed
• International travel needed
• Preferably a Korean speaker (read & write)Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
• Work generally performed in an office, lab, warehouse, or user environment.
• High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition.
• High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work.
• May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule.
