NOTICE OF POSITION

TITLE:                             VEHICLE ENGINEER

SALARY RANGE:          $60,000 (Min.) -$68,000 (Max.) per Annum

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:  MS or BS in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering with reasonable familiarity of all three disciplines.  New graduate to five (5) years experience is required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Candidate must be fully bi-lingual at a technical level in Korean and English. The Vehicle Engineer will participate in the design review, fabrication, oversight, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of a fleet of commuter rail cars with electric propulsion, manufactured by Hyundai/Rotem.  During the design, fabrication and delivery period, responsibilities include:

§  Review of designs, including design documents

§  Participation in quality oversight of pilot and production vehicles in Philadelphia with limited travel to Korea

§  Participation in testing and commissioning in Denver

§  Review of maintenance manuals, parts books, and training plans

§  Participation in conditional and final acceptance of the fleet

Upon initiation of revenue transit service (2016), this position will support maintenance operations in:

§  The diagnosis of problems

§  Development of retrofit programs

§  Maintenance of configuration controls

§  Conduct technical training

§  Other duties in support of line maintenance operations

This is a career position with a top U.S. transit operations firm.  The Vehicle Engineer position is based in Denver, CO and will require travel to Philadelphia, PA, South Korea, Boston, MA, and other sites as required.

Rail vehicle engineering experience is not required but is desirable.  An excellent academic record is required.
