Translate customer requirements into detailed software requirements and design as needed. • Use computer assisted engineering to design control algorithms, and hardware, to perform engineering tasks • Coordinate the creation of required documents, drawings and specifications • Develop and review schematics, and conduct associated design reviews • Define level of software in test samples, documentation and preparation of samples for internal and external use • Control all control algorithm models and related test / prototype activities • Maintain test and prototype equipment for electronics as required • Prepare technical reports and presentations for customer and/or internal use, as necessary. • Troubleshoot bench testing and/or vehicle issues during development • Lead internal and external design reviews for prototype and production designs, models, and drawings using analysis techniques such as the DFMEA and/or DRBFM to identify and assess design and manufacturing risks. • As required, direct and monitor the activities of less experienced engineers, as required by the departmental manager.
