    Korea International Trade Association(KITA) Washington Center LLC in D.C.(Washington Office) is looking for entry level or experienced professionals to join the Research Department to assist member companies with broad range of federal, states and local trade-related policies and diverse activities covered by the research department including constructing memos, attending seminars, and business development.

    The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) was established in 1946 with the objective of advancing the Korean economy through trade, and is currently the largest business organization in Korea with over 71,000 member companies. Representing the interests of Korea’s global traders, KITA serves a diverse range of roles including: providing hands-on support to trade companies, drawing trade cooperation from the private sector, formulating new trade strategies, nurturing trade professionals and building trade infrastructure. KITA has established a network of 13 domestic offices and 10 overseas branches in major cities in the world.

    The KITA Washington Center advocates for KITA member corporations by collecting pertinent information, staying abreast of trade policy developments and fostering interaction with key trade-related interest groups in Washington, D.C. as well as every states in the United States. As the only private trade association representing Korea in greater Washington DC area, the KITA Washington Center is committed speaking for Korean trade corporations and supporting trade policies and legislation that are in the interest of KITA member companies. The KITA Washington Center develops cooperative activities with think tanks located in Washington. The KITA Washington Center has developed strong relationships with top academics and policy makers, developing the issues that critical to Korean trade corporations. KITA Washington Center not only conveys up-to-the-minute trade developments to member companies but also helps forge government-relations activities through strategic partnerships with firms and relevant trade organizations.

    [Position Details]
    – Position: Market Researcher
    – Location: KITA Washington Center DC Office (1660 L St. NW STE 401, Washington DC 20036)
    – Status: Full-time (5 days per week)
    – Salary : $40,000 ~ 45,000 per year (negotiable)
    – Individuals will be required to present proof of valid Work Authorization before an offer is made.
    * H1B sponsorship is available for suitable candidate
    – Full-time position with 3-month probation and training period.

    [Essential Duty / Responsibilities]
    1. Primary Duties
    – Provide research memos regarding U.S. market trends.
    – Research and analyze U.S trade policies and regulations including in-depth studies of specific industries.
    – Prepare policy report for KITA members and report directly to President of KITA Washington Center
    – Jointly work with public affairs department to develop strategic plans for member companies regarding U.S. industry trend and specific-issues.
    – Prepare press release materials for other U.S. partner organizations.
    2. Secondary Duties
    – Responsible to manage KITA Washington Center’s asset including building and leasing activities
    – Other administrative works.

    [Qualifications]
    – Bachelor’s degree in International Business, International Relations, or equivalent with some years of experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
    – One to four years of relevant professional and/or an academic experience.
    – Equivalent to native fluency in Korean and English – Reading, Writing, Communication, Presentation.
    – Microsoft Office skills (Especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Hangeul(Korean version of Word Process)
    – An ability to communicate effectively with interest parties including U.S. Government, law/consulting firms, think tanks, associations and Korean companies
    – Strong interpersonal skills, an appreciation of the need to maintain confidentially, flexibility and adaptability
    – An ability to work, with limited supervision, to set priorities and to allocate resources so as to complete tasks effectively and efficiently
