opportunity to join our Simulation and Modeling Group, located in the
Sugar Land Product Center (SPC) near Houston. Our mission is to
improve product reliability and performance in the harsh conditions
encountered in a variety of oilfield business segments.Job Description
You will closely collaborate with Schlumberger design engineers in US
and Europe. You will be in charge of conducting FEA studies, from
definition phase to results presentation to internal or external
customers, in technically challenging areas such as non-linear solid
mechanics, metal plasticity, composite and viscoelastic materials,
shock, vibration, heat transfer and fluid/structure interaction.Requirements
Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,
Engineering Mechanics or Civil Engineering with 3+ year industrial or
post-doc experience.Solid background in finite element methods, stress analysis and
engineering mechanics. Good understanding of failure analysis,
materials engineering and metallurgy, component and tool design.Experience in developing FEA codes in FORTRAN, C or C++.
Previous experience with commercial FEA codes: Abaqus, Ansys Classic
or Ansys Workbench.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Autonomous and creative approach towards challenging problems.
