    Detailed Description

    Otsuka is seeking a Research Associate I to perform the following duties:

    Establish and optimize cell-based and cell free in vitro functional assays.

    Establish and maintain recombinant and primary cell lines.

    Preliminary data analysis and presentation of findings to supervisor.

    Ordering laboratory supplies and detailed record keeping.

    Job Requirements

    The qualified candidate will possess the following:

    BS in a relevant biological science.

    Experience with confocal microscopy.

    Identify and introduce improved techniques to study drug function at receptors expressed in recombinant and primary cell lines.

    Technical experience working in a neuroscience and/or drug discovery/development, preferably in the areas of schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder and other psychiatric diseases.

    Basic understanding of neuroscience pharmacology.

    1-2 years of experience with in vitro recombinant and primary cell culture.

    Technical expertise using in vitro assays to monitor drug effects on cell signaling biochemicals and proteins (ELISA and Western blot).

    Proactive, detail-oriented, team player keen to work as a part of a team of cell biologists and receptor pharmacologists to develop new drug treatments for psychiatric diseases.
