Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 9001 compliance and Lean/Six-Sigma Manufacturing. Reports directly to the Quality Engineering manager.
The Quality Engineer Key Responsibility Scope:Work with customers in the establishment of project specific quality management requirements – documents, control plans, deliverables, FMEA’s and performance metrics and reports
Manage the production and quality control tool and equipment calibration program
Manage the document control and access system for all facility production documents in accordance and in fulfillment of the ISO 9001 standard requirements
Training and mentoring of all employees on:
Lean Manufacturing – Principles and Techniques
A3 or 8D Problem Solving Methodology
Quality Principles and Tools
Document Control / ISO 9001
Quality Assurance & Control Methodologies
Performance Measurement Systems and Metrics
Resolution of customer audit corrective actions and improvement findings
Develop operational standard work instructions, quality inspection & test procedures, quality criteria, checklists, specifications and directives for production processes and incoming materials
Manage the Non-Conformance Reporting programRequired Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or equivalent experience and education combination.
Minimum of 5 years performing quality assurance & control functions with direct hands-on experience in the development and management of a Quality Management System
Minimum of 3 years of Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
Minimum of 3 years in the development and attainment of the ISO 9001 certification and compliance
Knowledge of SPC, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, etcExperience:
Quality Management System: 5 years (Preferred)
Implementation of ISO 9001: 1 year (Preferred)Education:
