If I were you, I would write more specifically about what I am offering.
I became a member of Phi Kappa Phi when I was a Junior. I was served a free dinner on the induction day. Other than that it has been utterly meaningless. When my daughter asked how to respond to the invitation from Phi Beta Kappa, It was quite natural for me to tell her not to bother unless they are giving her a free meal. So she ignored it. Perhaps you got something better out of the local chapter. Now the who’s who guys have been bugging me for years, but I am not budging until they treat me with something yummy.
