The Manager, Ocean Logistics & Supply Chain Solutions position is responsible for all duties related to inbound and outbound freight forwarding operations, supervising and troubleshooting for the East Coast SCM Team (Kokomo, IN). They will be supporting weekly and monthly closing reports, monitor all AR and AP. Additionally, this position will lead and assist various projects as required as well as develop logistics solutions.

$81,000- $91,000/Annually (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)Responsibilities
Primary• General 3PL operations (Inbound, outbound, in-land and warehouse/distribution)
• Oversee the transportation of freight and ensure complete customer satisfaction by facilitating timely and accurate communication
• Provide guidance and direction to freight forwarding operation team on operational decisions based on immediate requirements and urgent transportation
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and ocean carriers, inland transportation carriers to ensure that a premium level of customer service is always present
• Accurately manage and maintain departmental operational tasks such as accounting, reporting, and records keeping in accordance with internal policies and state and federal regulations
• Manage accounts to retain existing relationships and grow share of business
• Lead, coach, enforce, empower and direct reports to perform and achieve in line with company values and strategy and department goals adhering to company SOP and policies
• Recommend and implement strategies to continually improve department performance
• Communicate pending work and/or unresolved problems to the following personnel
• Prioritizes and delegates work tasks among the team membersSecondary
• Customer services and client management
• Drives performance improvement of operation and customer relation to achieve KPIs
• Ensure that all personnel are providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
• Ensure that all customers’ inquiries are responded promptly and professionally
• New accounts operation set-up support and competitive analysis
• Provide operation set-up support for newly awarded freight forwarding business
• Build customer relationships as operation leader for new accounts
• Support the business development related to team and contribute to opportunity qualification and related solutions design and commercial strategy
• Other duties will be assigned as neededTertiary

Experience in SCM, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Transportation
Strong communication, critical thinking, planning, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Broad knowledge of general business application programs, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows OS environment
Ability to make accurate assessments based upon common industry practice, vendor contractual obligations, and department policies
Proficient with PC skills: Excel, Word, and database management
Experience with CRM /WMS System is highly preferredEducation & Experience
High School Diploma / GED Required
Bachelors Degree Preferred
4-6 Years of Direct Experience Required
