    Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Develop a market for newer CLIENT Medium-Voltage Switchgear solutions through value-based offerings to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction companies and Utilities / Industrial End-Users.
    • Develop business and market, including changing the current Substation Design practices using technical argumentation.
    • Prepare the most attractive solutions for customers using CLIENT AIS [Air-Insulated Switchgear] & GIS [Gas-Insulated Switchgear] resources; this will involve presenting technical economical evaluations and following up with sales proposals.
    • Perform market analysis for MV and LV Breaker markets and identify customer segments that can be served more efficiently by various products.
    • Actively follow and promote CLIENT Metal-Enclosed Switchgear Market Strategy, adjusting / realigning the strategy as required by market.
    • Apply technical and Industry knowledge to maximize conversion of customers from traditional AIS practices into use of higher integrated switchgear models.
    • Identify product needs for each market segment and the best way to align the CLIENT Product Portfolio with market needs.
    • Create competitor profiles and develop a strategy for positioning CLIENT products against them.
    • Coordinate marketing activities with other MV and LV products in order to have a coherent approach to the customers and Business Development Manager –
    • Develop action plans for each customer / customer segment to achieve higher penetration by CLIENT products – this will involve establishing business/market segment strategies to achieve growth/profitability objectives and increase customer satisfaction.
    • Participate in industry forums to promote LSIS’s solutions (versus traditional AIS products).
    • Participate in planning efforts with other CLIENT Sales & Marketing Managers.
    • Establish & maintain close ties with customers & support groups; evaluate market conditions; prepare sales plans & forecasts; and develop cost-effective business strategies to achieve objectives.
    • Educate / train front-end sales force to become capable of product promotion.
    • Extensive travel is required (40-50% will be expected)
    • Provide regular reporting on customer feedback, opportunities arising, and market situations to the North American executive management team.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field (Electrical Engineering is preferred; other technical disciplines will also be considered).
    • 8+ years of sales and/or marketing experience in the Low and Medium -Voltage Power Distribution field or a related industry.
    • The following equivalent combinations of education & experience will also be considered: Master’s degree in a technical field w/ 6+ years of relevant experience OR Associates degree in a technical field with 10+ years of relevant experience OR 12+ years of relevant experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Market and product knowledge in the field of Low and Medium Voltage Breakers.
    • Previous training in Medium-voltage power electronics technology (willingness to take advanced coursework in electrical engineering, especially with power distribution technologies).
    • Able to use various marketing resources and data mining tools.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient with technical tools / computer applications such as MS-Office Suite, MS-Visio, and CAD programs.
    • Able to travel for business, including foreign travel, and availability for communications in any time zone as needed.
    • Strong knowledge of Substation Business and previous experience in the Substation field (Utility or EPC / System Integrator experience is preferred).
    • Strong engineering capabilities to design substation layouts using North American Standards and Safety Regulations.
    • Excellent communication skills to influence technical managers and negotiate with customers.
    • In-depth understanding of corporate and business unit technical & commercial strengths, interrelationships with markets, and the ability to resolve complex problems.
    • Strategic planning skills and ability to translate corporate and business unit goals & objectives into realistic marketing & sales plans.
