Wanted Master Tailor/Alterations Specialist

Master tailor/Alteration specialist needed for a high-end Men’s Clothing Store in Morgantown, WV USA. Must be willing to relocate.
5+ years of experience needed in the entire scope of tailoring. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of fabrics and fit.

Job tasks are not limited to, but would include:
• Fit & study garments on customers to determine required alteration
• Sew garments using needle & thread & sewing machinery
• Let out or take in seams in suits and other garments to improve fit
• Take up or let down hems to shorten or lengthen garment parts such as sleeves or lengths
• Remove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers, knives or razor blades
• Examine tags on garments to determine alterations that are needed
• Fit, alter, & repair made-to-measure clothing, according to customers’ and clothing manufacturers’ specifications and fit, and applying principles of garment design, construction and styling.
• Press garments, using hand irons or pressing machines
• Maintain garment drape and proportions as alterations are performed
• Measure customers using tape measures to ensure proper fit
• Make garment style changes, such as tapering coats or pants, narrowing lapels or by adding or removing padding
• Repair or replace defective garment parts such as inside linings, zippers, snaps or buttons
• Put in padding & shaping materials
• Specific alterations such as tapering of coats, pants, or shirts
• Suit or Sport Coats: Lowering collars, shortening collars, shortening coat lengths

We will fund for work visas/green card (if required), relocation expense, provide 1 years’ worth of living expense along with a salary commensurate to experience & qualifications.
