JOB DESCRIPTION
TELEMATICS SYSTEMS ANALYST

1. Purpose of Position
• The Lead System Analyst is responsible for creating detailed requirements specifications for Telematics development including new features and enhancements such as core platform and customer channels like web portal and mobile app. This includes coordinating with business, engineering and R&D stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and define product and system requirements, create a high level system design, and interface specifications with the help of System Architect.
• Act as a product owner for the development team.
• Collaborate with the Technical Operations team to help define test scenarios.
2. Essential Functions
• The SA will work closely with project team members to perform the required tasks using a combination of solid business understanding, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent leadership and facilitation techniques:
• Work with business stakeholders to understand/evaluate business requirements and translate them to system requirements specifications that will serve as input for development.
• Work with multiple stakeholders to analyze requirements, clarify design dependencies, and support functional and non-functional requirements.
• Work with Architect/development team/vendor technical team to come up with impact analysis and high level design for product change requests.
• Create/update system interface (API and Protocol design) documentation.
• Act as a Product owner to the development team.
• Understand end to end system architecture and be able to come up with impact assessment, Feasibility Analysis for solution options
• Support the Technical Operations team’s activities by reviewing test scenarios, clarifying product requirements, and supporting test execution activities.
• Work with a wide variety of stakeholders including project managers, partners, suppliers, customers, and organizational entities to ensure timely delivery of high quality and cost effective solutions.
• Communicate project risks and issues to Project management Team for resolution
• Support multiple projects at the same time and effectively communicate status, progress, and results to management.
3. Job Requirements
• Education
o Required
 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
o Preferred
 Master’s degree in Computer Science or Business Management or equivalent.
• Related Work Experience (Yrs)
o Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development projects.
o 6+ Years of experience as a System Analyst.
o 3+ Years of experience preferred in automotive domain
o Experience handling complex technical projects in a multi-vendor project environment.
• Skills/Knowledge
o Required
 Expertise in end to end requirements management process.
 Ability to work with in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
 Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment.
 High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
 Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
 Demonstrated expertise interfacing with business stakeholders.
 Critical thinking: use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
 Demonstrated expertise in performing a System Analyst role for end consumer facing products, preferably a system handling high volume transactions.
 Business Acumen: understand how business works; maintain awareness of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
 Experience creating interaction diagrams, preferably UML.
o Preferred
 Exposure to RESTful web-services.
 Exposure to Agile development methodology.
 Development/Programming background with experience in object oriented programming.
