Job Descriptions

A Back-End Web Developer is responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the main database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your team members into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore mandatory in completing team based projects.

Vital Responsibilities

• Design, implementation and maintenance of database systems in accordance with running mobile/web applications
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability in data logistics
• Performing on monitoring database, applying adequate solutions for errors and defects
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions
• Management of back-up/ recovery processes

Core Requirements

• 3 years or more of relevant work experience
• Strong understanding of popularly used concepts, logics, practices and procedures within the data modeling fields
• Proficient knowledge of database and operating systems such as Linux, Unix, MacOS X, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Good knowledge of a back-end programming language and framework such as PHP, Python, Ruby, C#, Java, Django, Ruby on rails, Spring, etc.
• Good understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, CSS, JQuery, etc.
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience in utilizing data design and modeling tools
• Proactive learner and adaptor for advanced technologies with new challenge at the leading edge of Hi-Tech
• Experience in designing and implementing UI based on database systems
• Understanding accessibility and security compliance
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes
• Data migration, transformation, and scripting
• Setup and administration of backups
• Outputting data in different formats
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests

Big Preferences

• BS in Computer Science or MIS preferred but not required
• Experience with mobile app development projects
• Good debugging and trouble shooting skills
• Knowledge in integration with mobile and/or native App platforms
• Knowledge in translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code producing visual elements of applications
• Ability to speak and read Korean language
• Detail oriented but capable of handling multi-tasks in fast tracks
