Case Summary:

The client that North America Immigration Law Group had the opportunity to work with in this case was a Postdoctoral Fellow from South Korea. His work has mainly focused on materials chemistry by characterizing the properties and structures of titanium oxide, porphyrin compounds, and nuclear graphite and by improving the techniques that are used to examine material surfaces and interfaces. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 7 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers. The importance of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “While [client’s] research was important for identifying the impurities of nuclear graphite, equally important were the methods that he used which are contributed as development of the ASTM standards for testing the oxidation of nuclear graphite.… [Client’s] work on identifying and quantifying the impurities that work as oxidation catalysts and radioactive elements inventories have elucidated the chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties of thermal graphite, thus enabling the optimization of nuclear reactor technologies.” Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 11 months and 16 days.
