    Description:

    Collaborates with parents to develop and implement individualized program for the family in accordance with individual needs of each child, his/her interests, abilities, disabilities, individual style and pace of learning. Develops monthly goals and objectives. Strengthen the family’s knowledge of child development, including assisting parents to understand how children grow and learn; to develop healthy practices and improve nutrition, and utilize community resources. Promote parent-child bonding and nurturing parent-child relationships through modeling developmentally and culturally appropriate interactions and communication. Provide resources and referrals to community support as appropriate. Establish strong and caring relationships with family members by maintaining sensitive, nurturing, and respectful interaction. Establish a climate of acceptance that supports and respects gender, each child’s individual personality, physical characteristics, traits, culture, language, ethnic characteristic, family structure, development needs, and behavior. Conducts regular home visits and uses routines, activities, and experiences in the home that achieves the goals of the Individualized Family Service Plan. Encourage and support the involvement and shared decision-making in implementing their parenting goals and the goals of their Individualized Family Partnership Agreement. Provide a minimum of two group socialization activities per month for each child. Utilize the variety of materials found in the home when conducting home visits. Actively participate and/or observe family interactions; demonstrate/model appropriate behaviors. Participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement the IFSP including: active participation in staff meetings, conferences, consultations; shares client information and observations; coordinates needs of clients; and makes a positive contribution to the team. Develops, maintains and uses a working knowledge of the ethnic and cultural differences, practices and values of the client families in order to better understand their needs and provide appropriate services. Develops and maintains appropriate case notes and other records and prepares periodic reports as required; complies with productivity standards of the Agency and maintains an appropriate caseload to reach the weekly expectation of client contact and billable hours. Maintains absolute confidentiality regarding children and their families in compliance with HIPAA regulations and Institute policies.
    Qualifications:

    A bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, social work or similar discipline that includes at least 12 semester units of child development studies. Two or more years of experience in programs offering child and family assessment services, home visiting services, early intervention services, direct experience in working with children ages 0 to 3, parent education services, family support and referral services, or similar. Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Working knowledge of community resources to address special needs of clients. Current California driver’s license and State-required insurance required if using personal vehicle on Agency business and a driving record acceptable to the organization and/or its insurance carrier. Effective communication skills both oral and written; bi-lingual skills in Korean/ English are preferred.
