CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the overall
financial reporting and controls for the Company.PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Formulates and recommends policies on banking, receipt and disbursements of funds,
extensions of credit, and general accounting procedure.
2. Invests and monitors investments of company funds. Monitors cash levels of the
various bank accounts for each station. Maintains adequate overall liquidity.
3. Procures outside financing and borrowing. Forecasts debt levels and manages the
company’s line-of-credit verses expense and capital disbursements. Directs the
payment of principal and interest within credit requirements.
4. Develops and maintains operating and capital budget and forecasts for each of the
stations and corporate. Works with department heads to formulate their budget,
explain variances to the Board and management and update forecast monthly.
5. Prepares and reviews all financial statements and conducts monthly meetings to
analyze results with management.
6. Develops and monitors capital expense budgets and approves disbursements.
7. Prepares corporate compliance reports on debt covenants in accordance with credit
agreements. Advises management and Board in advance of non-compliance.
8. Manages the independent audit and corporate tax functions.
9. Advises on acquisitions and mergers.
10. Hires, trains and supervises Accounting Manager. Advises on the hiring and training
of all finance department staff.
11. Directs and oversees the activities of the Accounting Department.
12. Presents financial results at quarterly Board of Director meetings.
13. Performs other special projects as necessary.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Overall knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, including general
ledger, A/R, A/P, credit/collections, tax preparation, and account analysis.
2. Skill in preparing budgets and financial reports accurately and by deadline.
3. Knowledge of investment market, banking practices, and cash forecasting.
4. Knowledge of computerized general ledger and sub-ledger systems.
5. Knowledge of television industry finance and broadcast/traffic operations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance with a CPA license is required. At least
seven years of top management experience in financial reporting, with emphasis in
television broadcasting, is required.
