    Position Summary:
    The Sr. Quality Assurance Manager of Technical Leading team will provide general supervision and technical guidance to the QA Staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of Samsung mobile products. The Sr. QA Manager maintains ultimate responsibility for assuring that all products are defect free and compliant with technical specifications to ensure successful execution of wireless carrier approval. The Sr. QA Manager will work directly under the Director of MQL Group and help improve infrastructure and standard of product quality assurance. He or she will manage PL team to achieve carrier approvals in a timely manner as well as decide if he or she confirm the final S/W&H/W or not with the director to manufacture before launching.

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:

    • Develop and implement respective departmental strategies and evaluate respective department performance and individual team members’ performance for improvement
    • Plan and manage respective department resources and budgets working directly with MQL Operation team.
    • Provide general supervision and technical guidance to the QA Staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of all Samsung Mobile software and hardware performance.
    • Assure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good testing practices, validating test process, providing documentation, and managing staff.
    • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, identifying and resolving problems, completing audits, determining system improvements, and implementing change.
    • Provides necessary definition, development and deployment of the Samsung mobile products quality assurance strategy, addressing all phases of product development.
    • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
    • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
    • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
    • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Manages department and overall expectations pertaining to setting accurate schedules, costs and resources.
    • Ensures delivery against QA department goals and objectives, i.e. meeting commitments and coordinating overall quality assurance schedule.

    Background/Experience
    (Minimum qualifications required to perform this job)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
    • 10-11 years of software quality assurance experience, to include a minimum of 6 years in a lead role or management position.
    • Strong knowledge/experience of GSM/CDMA/ WCDMA/LTE
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Mobile Software Quality Assurance metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria.
    • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must.
    • Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
    • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
    • Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, iterative) and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools.
    • Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members.
    • Knowledge of wireless telecommunication technologies such as GSM, WCDMA, LTE and their protocols and requirements.
    • Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.

    • Coordinating work process such as planning, assigning, and monitoring all the test activities

    Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
    • Work is generally performed in an office desk.
    • Requires considerable movement and transportation of equipment or samples with a high security mentality
    • Performs work under time schedules which are normally periodic or cyclical and include: time sensitive job stress, fatigue, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and product management stress.
    • Highly ethical personality preferred to handle unpublished samples and equipment. (Requires not to disclose all information and knowledge to public)
    • Operate a computer keyboard and view a display terminal for more than 40% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
    • Perform reliability tests by operating small model devices for more than 50% of work time.
    • Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
    • Require business trips for short terms and long terms; short terms from 1 day to 2 weeks and long terms up to more than a month.
