    Job Description
    The Business Analyst, Web Analytics is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to measure the impact of online features and services as well as online marketing vehicles to support strategic business decisions. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to conduct and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative analyses of data to contribute to problem solving that drives recommendations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to help them understand online traffic patterns, segmentation of customer groups and improvements for website navigation. The individual will participate in the design and development of online measurement solutions to support business objectives and assist with defining measurement strategy and infrastructure needs.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in providing Web analytics leadership and help improve our online customer experience. You will be responsible for performing advanced clickstream data mining to identify website gaps / areas of opportunity, and provide key data driven insights to influence strategic decisions across our sites. You will guide the online customer profile information capture process and lead back-end analysis.

    The Analyst will work as part of the Web Strategy and Marketing team and will also be responsible for search engine optimization practices across all sites (to increase the quantity and quality of visitors coming from organic search). This may grow to include paid search (pay-per-click).

    Responsibilities
    · Establish reporting objectives and needs and provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting

    · Develop and maintain key business metric reports

    · Work closely with Marketing Channel Managers to provide tactical support and analytic insights to optimize business decision making.

    · Function as the business owner of the Web Analytics tool, serving as liaison to technology staff with respect to improving the efficiency of the Web Side Story implementation, including its usage and performance.

    · Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on best practices and standards for developing Web analysis reporting structure

    · Analyze website data on traffic patterns, order volume, conversion funnel, navigation behavior, and product selection

    · Drive data-driven insights on customer behavior by analyzing site traffic, click navigation, page performance, shopping behavior and purchase conversion

    · Collaborate with outside consultants and internal associates on cross-functional projects designed to improve the profitability and/or efficiency of existing marketing programs, processes, and procedures

    · Assist with all functions related to improving the analytic environment

    · Participation in all Business Intelligence (BI) activities related to the our data warehouse development; Develop and implement strategies for meeting analytic needs that are not addressed by the data warehouse or current BI initiatives

    · Leading data validation efforts by (a) developing and implementing test plans for databases, data marts, structured reports, and source system upgrades (b) maintaining and updating analytic portals, and (c) providing support to end-users through training and one-on-one assistance.

    · Define key metrics to measure website performance, construct tracking dashboards and maintain general reporting structure

    · Proactively identify opportunities to improve site effectiveness by drilling into clickstream data using sophisticated data mining applications – champion improvements across both online marketing and merchandizing decisions

    · Guide .com customer profile information capture and integration within our customer data warehouse

    · Improve drive-to-site program, including keyword search, and search engine performance

    · Oversee development, acquisition, maintenance and enhancement of analytics tools to improve overall Web channel productivity

    · Leverage data to Analyze and optimize our website to drive profitability and growth

    · Proactively identify areas/decisions where additional analytic or strategic insight is needed.

    · Find patterns in data and turn into actionable business impact and driving change in the organization.

    · Develop new and improved ways to track and report on key aspects of the business in order to inform key business decisions.

    · Participate in site re-designs and enhancements as a measurements expert, identifying reporting requirements, monitoring the reporting implementation and evaluating post-launch metrics

    · Share research findings and best practices with team and company including customer insight, benchmarking, and industry updates.

    Required

    Experience
    · Bachelor’s Degree

    · Prior experience (4 – 6 years) in Web analytics and performance measurement and analysis a must (WebTrends and Web Side Story highly desirable).

    · Prior experience with query/reporting tools (Brio, Crystal Reports, SQL, etc.)

    · Experience with Excel and pivot tables required

    · Minimum 2 years experience with SEO with knowledge of current and emerging SEO best practices

    · Working closely with other members of the Marketing Team, develop overall online marketing plan as well as specific promotions including objectives, tactics, metrics, and budget specific to your channel(s).

    · Lead the effort to analyze business and user needs; conceptualize, define, and document project scope, value proposition, market/industry research, messaging, project/business/functional requirements and functional design.

    · Serve as project lead/sponsor for all Web-based projects within your channel(s) from initial needs assessment through to launch.
