The Department of State released the latest Visa Bulletin for May 2008 on April 11. There are slight progresses for applicants born in China and India, with EB2 moving ahead just one month.
The following are cut-off dates for employment-based immigration petitions. Dates in the parentheses are cut-off dates for February 2008.
For people born in mainland China:
EB1: Current (Current)
EB2: January 1, 2004 (December 1, 2003)
EB3: March 22, 2003 (February 8, 2003).Cut-off dates for people born in India:
EB1: Current (Current)
EB2: January 1, 2004 (December 1, 2003)
EB3: November 1, 2001 (October 1, 2001).All chargeability areas except China, India, Mexico and Philippines:
EB1: Current (Current)
EB2: Current (Current)
EB3: March 1, 2006 (July 1, 2005)The Visa bulletin for EB 2 and EB3 for people born in China and India has been stagnant for a few months. However, there is no visa bulletin issue for EB1 green card application. That is a big advantage of EB1 green card application.
