Two non-profit organizations, Immigration Voice and Legal Immigrant Association, are organizing a rally in Washington, D.C., on September 18th, 2007. They are also planning other lobbying activities during that week. The purpose of the rally is for legal, highly skilled, and educated immigrants to be seen and heard by lawmakers on Capitol Hill and media outlets from all over the nation.

We at Zhang & Associates support these activities. Immigration Voice and Z&A have successfully scheduled some non-partisan meetings with U.S. lawmakers to discuss employment-based immigration issues. Next week, Z&A representatives will have two days of face-to-face meetings with senators and members of Congress. Our representatives will also attend the September 18 rally.

On Monday, September 17, Mr. Matthew Graham, Attorney Ben Wisniewski and Attorney Jerry Zhang will meet with senators and members of Congress to discuss legal, skilled immigration reform. Z&A representatives have appointments with several distinguished lawmakers, including: Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton (D-NY), presidential candidate and Senate leader on immigration reform, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), member of the Immigration Reform Caucus, and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), member of the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law.

In these meetings, our representatives will bring up the green card issue and the slow process of employment-based immigration. They will initiate a discussion on all the possible methods and routes of immigration reform. Our firm has prepared in-depth handouts for the senators, members of Congress, and their staff. These handouts explain in detail the major problems that employment-based immigrants face and offer open-ended suggestions on how to solve them.

On the morning of September 18, Z&A representatives will meet with more senators and members of Congress. We will spend the rest of the day participating in Immigration Voice’s rally. The final destination of the rally is the U.S. Capitol, where some senators and members of Congress will speak to the rally participants and various members of the media about the future of employment-based immigration.

We will report on any new developments and progress for the meetings on our website, http://www.hooyou.com.

If you would like us to bring some ideas and issues up in the meetings, please email your suggestions to Mr. Matt Graham at @hooyou.com">mgraham@hooyou.com.
