이게 있다고 하는데,.. 이게 렌트카를 혼다에서 내어주고.. 점검해주는 것인가요? 아니면, 그냥 7000마일에 정기 첵업 들어오라고 하는건가요?

There are two types of regular maintenance.
      1. recommended by manufacturer.
      2. recommended by dealer.

      The differences are.
      – recommended by manufacturer. => You will probably need to do most of this. How do you know what your car needs? Read your manual. If your car is a new Honda, there is a service reminder on your instrument panel. It will show you a certain code such as A0000 or something like that. Write down that code, and find what that code means in your manual. It could be “Engine oil change” or “Engine oil change and Air filter change” depends on the code.
If you see such service reminder code, you must do what it says to do. You can take your car to dealer for the service or any good mechanics to do the job.

      – recommended by dealer => Usually your dealer will send you a postcard or letter reminding that your car needs some maintenance service. This is NOT recommended by car manufacturer and you don’t need to follow them. These contain excessive service items generally which you don’t need (but good to have if you have a lot of money) This is where dealer service shop makes money.

I personally, dis-regard any dealer recommended service.
I just follow #1 – manufacturer recommended service shown on the instrument panel. When I get that reminder, I write down the code, and see what service items are needed for that code. If it is a simple thing like oil change, I do it myself. The code will tell you that your car need some inspections. Like brake line, brake pad, engine coolant level. I usually do this myself or just skip them. If you let the dealer to do it then you will have to pay for them.

So I just follow the service reminder on the gauge and do only critical items.

Read your manual and dis-regard dealer sent maintenance reminder if it is not about recall.
